The challenge 

The exponential increase in the number of incoming students in the Netherlands created an unexpected crisis in the housing market, making finding accommodation a very painful experience. A typical journey of a new student: - May: Accepted into university. - July-August: Arrival at university city. - September-November: Finally finding housing. For the rougher periods, students have to turn to unconventional and EXPENSIVE housing. This is a worldwide phenomenon.

The solution

We ease the transition towards university life and alleviate the housing crisis for incoming students. We connect them with locals who can provide temporary and affordable housing solutions. It is to 1. host a peer-to-peer platform, 2. find locals at the university city who can provide a place to sleep until the student finds conventional accommodation, 3. connect these groups together.
